Mofid children's Hospital was constructed in 1974 with the funding provided by the late Mr. Haj Habibolah Mofid as a charity hospital in an area of 12000m². Many years after its construction, it was donated to the then Ministry of Health. In July 1986, it was officially transferred to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.
Mofid children's Hospital has been recognized by the UNICEF as a “Child-Friendly Hospital”.
It is one of the most popular children's Hospital in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Many patients refer to it, not only from the capital, or the cities across the country, but from the neighboring countries that are served by this famous educational center. The services are rendered to both out- patient and in- patient kids who are in need its services.
Mofid children's Hospital is one of the most important scientific, educational, and research centers in both the specialty and sub- specialty medical fields, and is annually hosting numerous numbers of students of medicine, in-service trainees, and specialists in pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, and many other fields of medical specialty.
This children's Hospital is scientifically collaborating with the British Association of Pediatric Surgeons (BAPS), and scientific centers from Canada, Greece, Hungary, Turkey, United Arab Emirates (UAE), India, and South Korea.
